€2 for 24hrs or €7 for one week or €14 for one month... That's affordable, dude.

If you have some credit on your mobile you can sign up for 24 hours and get the research done in one go; other than that I'm afraid you don't have much of a choice.
If it's not publication specific you'll find a great searchable archive on Guardian.co.uk, or if it has to be Irish then the Independent has a free one too; to the best of my knowledge them and the Examiner are the only daily nationals with a free archive, but they're not very well structured at all tbh.

Maybe check your college library's database to see if they've a subscription to Lexis Nexis. I used it for my thesis last year.

Your collage may have access to the Ireland.com, mine does. But I think a few too many people may have the username and password to go passing it on to other people.

The 'paper of record' phrase really started to ring true when using the Times' archive the other day.

All the major colleges do so this is your best bet.

(LexisNexis is a newspaper archive. You can get up all articles from the Irish Times going way back over more than a decade, probably further)

Premium rate number I think; I've only used it once, ages ago... but it's the usual basic principal; you text a number that costs e2, they send you a code that lasts for 24 hours...

    From that site...

"Are you going to steal my identity or rob my credit card?"

"No. Our policy forbids accounts to paid services from being posted. However, just like a discussion forum, if you happen to find one then email and it will be removed. You can also request an entire site to be blocked here. Privacy is not considered a commodity."
