Any Business Analysts or Project Managers?

I'm a masters student studying eBusiness (Business Process Re-engineering, Managing IS in Organisations, Project Management, Supply chain Management etc.).

Employers are starting to sniff around looking for fresh meat these days and I am looking to "update" my CV. However, in BPR terms this would be classed as "Radical Re-engineering" :) . I think I will pretty much have to start from scratch. In college I was focussed on development and now I have 18 months industry experience, but in Quality Assurance.

I was wondering if there is anyone here with a bit of experience in the Business Analysis arena might be able to offer some advice on this? What aspects of jobs i worked at should I focus on, which undergrad subjects etc.

Any advice I have gotten before is from HR people.

Focus on how you turned business knowledge into technical knowledge. That's what analysts do, show you can do it.

show you are willing to step out side of technology to learn business process, terminaloly products etc.

When I worked as a BA what most people looked for was work experience as closely related to the project as possible. So in my case this would have been IT/development experience.
