    Hey,

    Quick question for ya,

I'm thinking of selling my car. It is a:

98 MkIV Golf 1.6 Basic modile
    Alloys, newish tyres
    51000 miles
    Full service history,
Nct Is up to next month,
And tax is till next june,

What could i expect to realistically get for it if i sell it privately?

considering that the prices in carzone are inflated

About 5000-6000 I'd say Get it through the next NCT, it'll be much quicker to shift.

You'll only get about 4.5 to 5k euros on a trade in, you'd be better off trying to sell it straight.

    I reckon €5,000 privately and €4,500 as a trade in. the 1.6 doesn't help.

Noted. but going on any Golfs I've ever had, unles its a high spec 1.6 it'll be hard to sell. base models only sell well in TDI or 1.4

You're probably about right, Mike, selling the Golf privately. Good news for the seller. Bad news for the buyer who would be a right eejit paying that much tbh...
