I was watching a dvd the other day about 3000 year old egyptian aftifacts and it showed 2 images of queen nefertiti, one of them was of this one:

The other one was a full length statue of the same queen and they were very very different.

I cant find a pic of the other full length one right now but her neck was shorter, her face was fatter and her features were a lot less sharply defined, basically she was a lot less appealing than in the above pic. So I dont think this is a new photoshop phenomenon its been going on forever.
