What software do people use for organising and viewing their digital photo libraries? I use picasa for stuff from nights out etc, but I'd like something a bit more powerful for looking after RAW files and so forth... any suggestions?

At the most basic file manipulation level I use the functions of windows explorer with Microsoft RAW plug-in ...

For sorting, organisaing, slide shows, occasional adjustments and screen swaver ... I use google Picasa ... nice and simple ... and free from -

    http://picasa.google.com/

The other app I use in a similar fashion to picasa and on a trial basis is Adobe Lightroom ... also free from -

    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/lightroom/

... but not very stable ... will be great when they get it finished!!

For advanced image editing I use Adobe photoshop CS2 ...

... I have the Canon software installed "photo record" ... but I never use it.

For Mac, nothing beats Aperture, processing Raws, organization and output to printer, web or export in one single program. I got it in ebay for €225.

I just run from memory for organising my pics, I have the same plug in that Leinsterman uses so I can view Raw thumbnails via the OS, if I want a slide show I hit Ctrl+L in Bridge and hey presto.
For Raw processing I use Raw Shooter Pro.

I have used ACDSee for years and have never really looked at anything else.

Adobe Lightroom beta right now. I wasn't really sold on it until I found out how to get a folder view and set a custom "open with.." option.

I'll definately be getting the final version.
