The only worry is, if it doesn't turn up and you will have no one to complain to because WU is not covered or recommended by eBay. No comeback whatsoever.

seems a legit seller, but just to be sure i would contact some of
the previous buyers and ask if they paid with wester union, then you ll
    have a better idea

well if this seller does'nt rob you then paypal will.

seller seems ok but i hope you are not handing over too much cash, maybe this seller sells legit low cost items thru paypal but more expensive items thru WU?

The item is $125 (+$45 P&P) - half the price of buying in the UK even. I checked the spec and shipping insurance is included in the price so I'd say its ok.

my advice would be NEVER use Western Union ever!! I've been scammed with it on ebay before.. Paypal is by far the best method.

Really? What happened in your case? Was it a trusted seller and was the item insured? Did it get lost in the post or did you get scammed?

I can't see anywhere in that listing that says International Buyers can only use WU. How did you find out? Did you contact him?

Why have a big "We prefer Paypal" graphic, then ask for WU?

    Will only take western union.
    Feeback score 9130 - 99.2%

I don't have anything to worry about here do I?

    This is a big Scam

This is almost certainly a scam, the seller and all details all seem legit but I've come across this before, and one explanation is that the account details could have been phished from the owner.

I've looked at some of the past purchased

    This one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18802&item=150038040201

Buyers prefer PAY PAL and this one

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=18802&item=150038040201

    Buyers prefer PAY PAL

Both are from the same seller. If you are wonder what scammers do with your ebay details this is it. I've reported it to ebay.

I've pm the original poster I hope its not too late. And the old rule if its too good to be true it probably is.

Why does he only take Paypal for international orders?? surely it makes no difference whether you are in the US or Ireland. The price will still be the same and therefore the payment method should be also. Since when does Paypal have borders!!!

I wouldnt personally, just have another look for a similar item, is it really worth the risk?? (i.e if you feel like taking a punt on a chance that you will lose 130$ go for it.)

btw, I just had a look on ebay and there are a few places that sell them that accept payapl for international (and cheaper that that seller). Just get one off them. You can pull out of the bid saying it didnt mention Western Union in the ad without getting negative feedback. If they give you hassle , contact ebay. That would be my advice.

There are 2 or 3 others selling it for the same price, I have emailed them and asked for shipping quotes, I hope they are as competitive as the last guy. I think you are right it is best not to tkae any chances. Plenty of other reputable guys that take paypal.
    Here and Here

I was a newb to ebay at the time. Sent the money to a German for a PS2 on ebay via Western Union and he scammed me out of it

There are some US users who don't take Paypal for international orders because of the verification issues with credit cards outside the US, some don't use the address confirmation thing used by Paypal, so your account would show up as verified but your address unconfirmed, through no fault of your own. In this case, I would not risk it and never send WU to anyone I don't know.

buying from the US to Europe is a pain anyway... the shipping costs are really annoying. And the Far East is even more annoying from experience with a Hong Kong seller.

I've just ordered from a HK seller (a miniSD card for N80 phone) so it'll be interesting to see how long it'll take. I think/hope the value of the item will be low enough to pass the customs radar! :)
