They're all from the Hard Working Class Heroes fest last night in town.

    Would love some feedback!

I don't know how to link them on here so I'll just put my flickr here

Here's one from last night (saturday) I'll upload some more to photobucket later because I've reached my limit on flickr

Very nice work for your first gig shots! You should be proud!

Thanks, I was ****ting myself before the gigs because I was so worried I wouldn't be able to take any half-decent shots. Those ones on my flickr are ok, but I'm still not 100% happy with them, there is ample room for improvement!!

Ha, I've done hundreds of gigs and still get worried about not getting the shots!

Your shots are sharp and well taken. I like the first Wintersleep one. Very nice tones in it.

The photo of The Marshalls could do with a play about in curves, but that's all the improvement it needs :)

I quite like the Marshalls one, but maybe with a different crop?

Like Fajitas I reckon the Winterslepp one with colour is great.

Maybe he was talking abot this one

    Which is also good.

Fair play. Did you just buy a ticket and go in or were you shooting for HWCH?
    What equipment/settings were you using?

I really have to get a grip on curves, I mess around in it sometimes but I haven't got a clue what I'm doing!!

I was trying the old square crop out for The Marshals, wasn't too sure if it worked or not though.

I got a photo pass from the fest, but to be honest if you bought a day or weekend ticket you'd be able to take shots no prob! There's no photopit or people to stop you from taking photos. It's quite strange...

I'm using the good old 50mm 1.8 and a 350d and settings vary a bit, because it's my first time taking gig photos I'm using 1600iso just so I get a handle on things and usualy a pretty low aperture maybe 3 or lower and a shutter speed of 1/125 down to 1/60...

great shots, i like the last to be i do have a soft spot for female musicians anyway:D

lovely colours and ya avoided the evil 'mic in face' in them, if anything maybe try capture head to toe, as some find if the feet are cut off it takes away from the flow a bit (no. 4) i love them tho well done

These are a good bit better than the ones on your flickr, my only gripe is that scratch plate of the guitar in the first shot is too hot, you can't make out enough of the detail on it or the fret board.

I'd prefer the first of the lady in red. the guy in the back of the second is a little distracting.

Ye can't beat the female musicians!!

Yeah I find it difficult to get head to toe ones with the 50mm because you have to so far back with it!

I know, I was raging about the fretboard and pickguard.

I quite like the two fellas in the photo, so he's staying! :P
