Anyone got any good sites? When I want to know anything about a movie I usually look to http://movies.yahoo.com first. I like it cause the reviews are usually accurate, and you get both user and critic opinions. Also when you sign in you can rate the movies you have seen, and then it gives you recommendations.

When it says "You'll probably like this movie" it is generally right. BUt I would like a site that has a feature such as, "If you liked thos movies, you might also like x x x x....

    Anyone got any recommendations?

http://www.rottentomatoes.com is the old reliable, as they collate all the reviews into one nice happy and usually accurate percentage :)
Also Im an empire fan, although not so much anymore.

I've been reading Roger Ebert's reviews in book form and online for years. I think the guy is very close to my own mindset when comes to evaluating movies in that he has a very ecclectic taste and rates movies mainly by genre rather than just simply comparing them to the classics or some pre-determined standard.
The star rating system is relative, not absolute. When you ask a friend if Hellboy is any good, you're not asking if it's any good compared to Mystic River, you're asking if it's any good compared to The Punisher. And my answer would be, on a scale of one to four, if Superman is four, then Hellboy is three and The Punisher is two.

As posted above, imbd.com is the best and most comprehensive site for movies. Also check out bbc.co.uk/movies

    www.empireonline.co.uk

Usuallu use Empire, but over the past year or so I haven't been to impressed with some of their ratings. Gone down hill a bit.

Mark Kermode's weekly podcast. You get Kermode's filmic scholar review, which I generally either completely agree with or completely disagree with and then you get Mayo baiting him and giving a layman's review. It's dipped in quality over the last few months, but I find it great to listen to on the LUAS.

While I'd sooner ask a chimp for his opinion on a movie before I'd ask most of imdb's board users, I usually have a look at the average rating of a movie there. So many people vote, I think it's usually pretty accurate.

[Suck-up]And, of course, our very own boards movie reviews forum :) [/suck-up]

Ya, the two boys really work well together but its not a patch on the show as it was about 4 years ago. Kermode spends way too much time talking about himself now, which is probably the reason he gets less than 30 mins now compared to the full hour when it started.
    Still a good listen though!
His written reviews are very good, not sure who he is writing for at the moment.

Have to agree , their ratings have been shocking over the past 12-18months and I find myself not buying it anymore because of the constant 4 stars for the big budget rubbish.
