Derby Gaol Over night Investigation

    Ok,

I was thinking of organising a trip to Derby for either a ghost walk or to book a private overnight investigation in the Derby Gaol. It's owned by richard Felix from MH.
I was thinking of maybe late early Feb. I think the walks are good but a private investigation would be better but we could do both. I'll fully check the costs later, I can book it online but the 2007 dates are not shown yet.

    Edit:

The Gaol is in the city centre and you can usually get into it for free, but they open another bit of it for the private investigation, I have a DVD from R Felix on how to carry out an investigation there, and a couple of Derby Ghost books if anyone is interested .

We can go by ryan Air on the cheapo. The city has many ghost walks but getting a weekend one could be difficult although there is the facility to get a private one so that we could have the Gaol on one night and if we did a weekend we could do a walking tour the next night.
I can sort out hotels etc as I've been in Derby many times its a nice City.
I have not organised anything here before so I hope that if it happens it will run well, however we'd need a few bodies to make it worth while.
Once again like the others have said I think it's important that if it goes ahead that anyone who goes is known to "us". I'm not sure what "us" means but it's best that we all know who is who first.

I'll firm everything up once i see if the thread falls over or not, hopefully it wont.:(

Depends on the location, and what the organiser(s) agreed with the propery owners. Generally, the location price doesn't exceed 60 Euros, at least on the investigations I've been on or organised (even with the Sterling conversion).

If there is enough interest and this goes ahead, it will top €60 as there are flights etc involved.

Lemme now when it is, and I'll see if I can make it.

Ok I called the guys at the gaol, and these are the costs, they might be a bit high , but sure anyway,

The overnight stay in the gaol, is 45 Stg per person for a min of 15 (this could be the trucky bit , as its 675 in total as a min)
You get a meal and someone gives us history of the place and a guide stays there all night, they have various sessions of different paranormal activities if people want to do them. It finishes at 4 in the morning where a light breakfast is provided. For an extra one off 40 Stg a medium (Patricia Farra) can be organised.

Its available on Feb 9,10,,16,17,23 these are all friday and saturday nights

    Flight options as follows
    Going Out
    Fri, 09 Feb 07
Flight FR 534 06:30 Depart Dublin (DUB)
07:35 Arrive East Midlands (EMA) 9.99 EUR
Flight FR 538 15:20 Depart Dublin (DUB)
    16:20 Arrive East Midlands (EMA)

Flight FR 536 21:10 Depart Dublin (DUB)
22:10 Arrive East Midlands (EMA) 12.99 EUR

    Coming Back
    Sun, 11 Feb 07

Flight FR 539 17:10 Depart East Midlands (EMA)
18:10 Arrive Dublin (DUB) 19.99 EUR
Flight FR 537 22:05 Depart East Midlands (EMA)
23:00 Arrive Dublin (DUB) 12.99 EUR

I have not looked into somewhere to stay yet or looked into it being a one or two night thing (if it was two I'd check out a tour of some sort)

If there is more interest I'll do some more work on it.

Well, those are among my best days, so I should be able to attend. Cost-wise.... hang on a moment, I may have something else going on in February :|

Edit: I've kinda scheduled myself out for the 10th and 11th, so I doubt I could make it... unless the other engagement was rescheduled, or dropped... can't do both.

well there's 4 other dates, but the interest level is not high enough at the moment, it wouldn't be an issue doing it the following week. I've asked the soulsearchers gang also, and I have received a maybe from there too.
I guess giving it till the end of the week would see where we stand one way or the other.

Sounds like it will be an excellent trip Stoner. I cannot say if I could go or not at the moment as a few things on over the next couple of months. I would say you may get a little more interested parties after the Ross Trip. Best of luck with it though, as am sure it will be a success.

I know I'm interested but will have to check. Feb is usually a very expensive month for me with Valentines and wifeys birthday.

Lads, this is not hammered down, but at least we know the costs.

Maybe Feb is too near, good idea Kshiel with the Ross Trip, I think we can talk about it then, I have booked nothing and I only made a few phone calls so I haven't broken my backside working on it or spent money, its just a place I'm aware or from going to derby, and Derby is meant to be the most haunted city in the UK..

I stuck this up on the soulsearchers site and Alan and Siobhan said they are interested , I'll be seeing them on the 27th of october and will talk about it further then. I have no idea what their names on boards are sorry about that lads if you read this.

I was thinking that I have a portable DVd player and a DVD of the gaol with richard Felix in it (its actually not great) but anyway we can look at it in Ross and decide if its any good, I also have a haunted Derby DVD.

I don't think that anyone would have an issue putting it off for a month or two, i was giving it the same time 6th had for people to decide if they were interested, but I made the mistake of not counting for christmas in the middle and I may also have made a mistake of going on a plane on the first thing i had a handle in organising, maybe a more local trip would have been easier. the only thing is that they have someone to lead the investigation as I would not be able to do this, the do table tipping, funny boards, auto writting etc

anyway thanks for getting back to me on it lads, If it happened I'm sure it would be great fun, oh and em very interesting from a paranormal point of view too.:)
