memory card trouble...

    hey all...

    Just got a d70s about a week ago and got a lend of a memory card (san disk ultra II 1gb) while I waited for mine to be delivered...

    Everything was great with that and when mine arrived (1gb high speed 'mymemory' card) I put it into the camera, formatted it and took a few test photos... But after a few shots a msg came up on the screen "this card cannot be used"... and 'CHA' comes up where the number of photos i have left should be... I formatted it again and it was fine but then it happened again...

    Does anyone know what the matter is??? I'm raging because I have to give back the card in a day or two!!

    Sounds like you got a bad card maybe try it in another body.
    you shoulld still be able to run disk recovery tools on it to get the images back.

    Who makes the card by the way?

    Not worried about the images on the card... i had it on continuous shutter pointed at the floor, to see just how fast it was... and then it stopped...

    It's a 'mymemory' make... as in they have them made and sell them as their own...

    I'm just worried that I'll have to buy a new card or something... and I won't be able to use the camera till I get a new one...

    I got the same message in the same situation (d50 on continuous) with my fake sandisk. I returned it to the seller who was able to see the pics even though the camera refused to deal with it.
