Does anyone know if you can apply for a certificate to marry via post. Am living abroad, in a country without an Irish Embassy/Consulate and need to apply for one to marry in Italy next year. Don't have time for a trip home to Ireland or to the USA to arrange it. Tried calling Dept of Foreign Affaris this morning but due to time difference it's closed.

You can do it all by mail.
Go to the consular section of the Foreign Affairs website, and send an email for the attention Mrs Peggy Dingley.
Nice lady, we had big Nulla Osta problems (they're supposed to be only valid for 120 days from date of issue) but she managed to bulldoze through the red tape for us.
