    Hey everyone,
I was asked a question this morning and I'm not sure of the answer since I have been in my current job for ages.

The person moved from Poland in Sept 2005 and worked as waitress while in college over there. Since moving to Ireland, she has had 2 security jobs. She now has an interview for a really good job in a coffee shop here.

For the Work Experience section, should she

    a) List her experience in chronological order (both security and coffeshop experience)
    b) List her coffeeshop experience first in a section called Relevant Experience, and the her security experience (current job) in another section-Other Experience-security has really good reference
    c)something entirely different.

Swift advice is very much appreciated!

Always list work experience in chronological order, starting with the most recent. That's a constant.

There's absolutely no harm in having a small section near the top of your CV (before the Work experience) listing your relevant skills, experience or qualification. Don't lay this section out like a work experience list, just bullet points of her key skills which are most relevant to this job.

In my CV I have a relevant experience section first, and then other experience - basically because of my part time jobs throughout college, and relevant experience would be lost among them
But still need them on my CV for references.
I feel by having the relevant experience section listed, its easy for the prospective employer to see, and they don't have to go trawling through loads of info before finding it, and might easily give up on the CV before that.
Although saying that the relevant experience should be highlighted in a cover letter if you are going for chronological order

remember, she can say what she likes about her work experience from poland, and no one will know better and 99% of employers wont bother to check..

    :)
