Distribution Query

    A friend of mine has 2 Sky boxes installed, each Sky box feeds one other TV.

    For simplicity, we will call them rooms a, b, c and d and call the sky boxes 1 & 2.

    Box 1 & 2 will always feed Rooms A & B thru scart. He would like to rooms C & D fed from both boxes 1 & 2 thru the UHF output.

    For rooms C & D he would like to be able to select which box he watches by using a switch. Is that possible?

    I will give an example.

    Mother is in the bedroom (room a) watching Sky Movies (box 1). Daughter is in bed (room b) watching cartoon network (box 2).

    Brother would like to watch cartoon network also (room c) but later would like to turn over to watch Sky Movies (box 1).

    So... does that make it clear? Maybe I will do up a sketch and post it.

    Thanks,

    MJ

    it should be quite easy using the RF In/Out on the 2 digiboxes

    eg. Aerial -> Box1 (RF Out using CH 30) -> Box 2 (RF Out using CH 40) -> rooms c & d

    the channel numbers are just for illustratative purposes only.
    so in rooms c & d you tune the first 4 positions to rte1, rte2, tv3 & tg4. set position no. 5 to CH 30 (digibox 1) and position no. 6 to CH 40 (digibox 2)

    i am sure someone here can provide actual channel numbers that will not interfere with other broadcasts etc.

    Here is a rough schematic of what he wants to achieve.

    mj - this is a very timely question as I'm in pretty much the same situation myself.

    The current sky box is in the living room and gets a basic subscription service. I also have a UK FTV card and want to be able to add another digibox and switch between the two in several rooms. Putting the whole lot up in the roofspace and adding some jiggery-pokery to split the signals around the house is what I'm looking for too, so I'd be interested in what comes up here.
