Instead of starting a new thread...... Who is going to what tonight? Do silks still guarantee €2,500? If so, how strict are they with ID as ive to go straight from work and dont have any with me!

Is the scalps in the SE still getting good numbers? I havent played it in months.

    Hi Ehsan,

I got a text from Duke the other day and it said it was on tonight.

€150 plus one re-buy and a ticket guaranteed, 8pm start, I'm surprised they haven't got a thread up about it.

    See you over there,
    Stephen.

I can't confirm for certain about the guarantee (they've had to put money in for the last three weeks) but they have 20 runners last week and 21 the week before.

The SE seems to be getting an average of about 35/40 players for the scalps.

I think a pop at an EPT ticket will be in order tonight. Is this an 8pm kick off?

Mr Pillow Talk - I want to have some (very small) chance of winning this. I shall have a taxi collect you NOW and take you to Ryans to get pi$$ed on my tab. I have to try level up the playing field.

I wouldn't be worried about me.

I'm just about to break the news that I have to cancel the Dublin tournament I've been organising :( ......As you can see I'm heartbroken.

I hope players won't hold this against me but I will be able to explain all soon I hope. I also have to stop using the name Poker Ireland which sucks ***.

None of this is going to stop me on my mission  to help improve tournament poker in Ireland though so don't worry.

See you in the Jackpot tonight, an EPT ticket would cheer me up no end.
Where are you heading to before-hand PillowTalk? I'm not drinking but I'll buy you as much as you want too.

silks game is still on.. i'm going..

2500 guarantee still stands as far as i know.

Fairly strict on id. My friend came 2 weeks ago and had his US millatry access all areas id with photo and hologram etc.... This can get him into the pentagon..... but not a dublin casino  They had no problem letting him in as a guest for that night and he had to bring a passport the next night.

Might see some of u there.

    Mac.

    Blah blah blah.

Home allready, lost a big pot that would have made me second in chips with 11 left.

    I have 20.5k
    Norman has 23k

Norman makes it 2200 to go in the cutoff, blinds 400/800
    Christy calls in the sb
I call in the bb with KsJs

    Flop 3 J 5 rainbow

    Christy checks
    I check
    Norman fires 4500
    I move all in

Norman calls in a flash with 57 off

Do I need to finish off what happens?

    How does Norman do it.

I was at the table also when Norm made the call - I couldnt believe he hit, I couldnt believe he called and he then said "I thought he was at it"? Fair play?!?

Just out in 7th myself (n). Avg stacks 35k (approx) and I have 20k. I push from cutoff with Ah7h when Sean calls with A10o, both a 7 and 10 come on the flop with 2 hearts  had hopes of dogging him with a heart but Chief and Norman had used up all the dogging juice. The fact that Lesley showed Jh9h when folding in meant i hadnt raised my hopes too much.

Il just have to stick €20 on Norm with PP when he wins this tonight and consider it as my %..

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,533 ✭✭✭ollyk1

Managed to scrape 4th in the SE for €300 (including my scalps) with the rivered second nut straight proving no match for the slowplayed flopped nut straight  DocO played some great poker but perhaps failed to ease up and was a bit unfortunate coming 3rd and Brianmc first for €960 plus a €165 satellite ticket.

The nice gentleman who finished second informed Brian he couldn't play the sat and didn't want to in any event and insisted on giving away the ticket which was included in the second place prize to the mug who was watching the final table action like the junkie that he is. Moi.

Gent wouldn't even accept a few quid (which was offered I hasten to add) so a decent tip was paid to the dealers on his behalf.

    Bring on Tuesday!

No it's an EPM satellite. €3,200 buyin game with the FT live on Eurosport being held in the SE or some hotel in Dublin.

The EPT sat last month was very well run with 118 runners and this one shouldn't be any different with €150 + €15 plus one rebuy or topup for €150.

Starting stack is 3.5k plus 5k. ring the SE for more details or get their flyer which has all the info.

I unfortunately only managed to get my money back last month so hoping for something a little better this time.

    UL Eoin,
im surprised Steven didnt win this as he was crusing and the deck was hitting him in the face as well.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,751 ✭✭✭BigCityBanker

The deck was hitting him in the face until he ran his KK into my AA preflop.

2nd hand of the final table and im BB, Stephen raises to 2k, I make it 6k to play. He pushes and I instacall. My AA held up and I doubled up as he halved his stack - he was pretty card dead after that.

I should have gotten away from that hand, he couldn't have had many other hands for that type of raise.

Anyway the deck always hits me in the face, thats why I play this game.

Believe me I'm trying.....And the sad part about it is that when I get up and running I will be holding mostly 250-350 games and because you have won the first 500 game you will have a big advantage in the league.......Which means that you and your fishiness will probably make it through to a free-roll which I'm planning for all the league leaders at the end of the year.......And another thing I will make far less money running tournaments than I would playing in them!!!

FUll Tilt have setup a series of events to try and rival the EPT. Cunningly named the EPM (European Poker Masters). Most of the big name FT pros will be playing the SE event.

i c....think I'll give the jackpot a go instead next week as this EPM lark sounds like a smaller cousin of the EPT

Any chance the SE would let an U21 in the doors to play this? I would imagine the EPM is over 18s not 21s. I looked on the EPM site and there was no mention of age restrictions.

In case anyone is ever thinking of asking about the age thing again, then don't. It is a futile exercise. They will not let you in. I am sure if I was to read the terms and conditions it will state that you must meet age requirements of the jurisdictions and venue where the tournament is taking place.
