yeah for inner city & motorways

the bike is quite long & the saddle is low so your feet arent that high up (but they are high)

    Hi Madra,

I have seen the bikes. Don't know what dealer you were looking at, but the guy where I got my Enfield was either doing them or looking at doing them.

Anyway, Regarding the bike. They are Tanks. Russian built, and look Russian in a crude sort of way.

I am sure they are about as refined a Siberian ice cube (sorry - couldnt think of any analogies) but, needless to say not very refined.
One thing I noticed about them to emphasise this point was that there are two carbs, one to each cylinder, stuck diagonally between the cylinder head and the frame, with a fuel line dangling in between. Not the most elegant.

I haven't seen them run but they are big. If I were to liken them to any bike - I would liken them to the Enfield Bullet 65, just a bit bigger.

I know Pluto who owns the tattoo parlour in Dorset Street was selling his Ural a few months ago - I think he still has it. You could call in there and have a look........it might give you a better idea of what the bike is like

Dunno too much about ural to tell the truth, been around for a while though so cant be too bad. I used to ride a Jawa 350 and it's great fun to ride something unusual and a bit quirky. I wouldn't spend much money on it though cause the resale value is gonna make you cry

Is it wrong to be falling in love with a russian bike?

It'll break your heart and it will all end in tears :D

Weren't there a few Urals at the last bike show in the RDS? There seemed to be a lot of fragile looking tubes and wires hanging out of it that didn't inspire a lot of confidence. Are they not like the Trabant of the motorcycle world? i.e. quirky and unusual, but ultimately a heap of **** that's better off hanging from somebody's ceiling: http://www.willieworld.com/HOF3.jpg

Hmm....I'm normally a big fan of Aprilia, but that Tuono really does look like somebody just crashed an RSVR.
