I thought someone here might be interested in my fridge.
Recently When I have had friends over to do circle work the fridge has been going crazy. It cracks every now and again but last night it was making a rapping noise (like heavy fingernails on the back of the fridge) that it has never made before and rarely makes. This happened about 20 times last night as we were getting messages through and it seemed to be responding intelligently.

Any ideas why a spirit would want to use a physical object to relay messages when it can get through just as well with help from the members of the circle?

I thought it was amazing......I had experienced it a little before but last night it went beserk. I actually turned it off and turned it back on again.
Also when it was going beserk all five of the LED lights on top to show temperature were flashing (it's set so only two are on).

Also, I should say that perhaps this is a mechanical fault but the fridge is only a couple of months old and this only happens about an hour before and during the group meeting up.

So I guess my main question is, assuming it is paranormal, do you think that this is a form of spirit communication or perhaps the energy of one of the members influencing the fridge telekinetically?

Either way it is a new occurence (in the last couple of months) and I'm quite enjoying it!:D

Presuming that this is paranormal this may not be a form of direct communication. It may be that a particular entity/spirit's energy is affecting the elctrics of the fridge simply by being in the atmosphere. Not sure how to explain it but think about if you have a full bucket of water - now if you put your foot into the water than water will spill over the edge of the bucket because of your presence.

And only because I can't help myself I have to post this youtube link!

That is hilarious! i have to rent out Ghostbusters......haven't seen it in years!

But back to topic. I can completely accept that it is a natural reaction to the energy of a spirit presence.
The funny thing is, when we were trying to find the name of the spirit (lets say Paula).....every time we said the name the fridge would do the crazy noises!

I'm looking forward to seeing if it happens again soon.....I might start journalling what we are doing when it does happen again!

Expect people on here to suggest things like setting up a tape recorder near it etc.

I don't think an EMF Meter (if you had one to spare) would be useful here... but yeah, the tape recorder or a video camera may work, but then again it may not do anything if filmed...

It's very hard to say anything conclusive one way or the other, really you just have to go with your gut instinct.

One thing I would add though is that with it coming into the winter, you probably have the heat on more and more in the evenings, with the room possibly getting quite hot when you have groups over, you could be putting the fridge under a bit of strain. Since you only have it a few months you would only be noticing it now.

If it was me I'd stick on a power line analyser, this would measure the input current, supply voltage and supply frequency going into the fridge. It's like a fancy extension lead, you plug the fridge into it and it into the wall socket. It will give a 24 hour report. Voltage drops and spikes along with frequency changes will cause a firdge to make a few sounds as it can become difficult for its regulating electronics to reach stability.

this would allow you to see what happens over 24 hours and if there is any voltage, Current or Frequency changes over a period of time. you'd need to have it on for a night when you are doing a circle and also a night when you are not.

If you got reading changes I would personally use a meter to measure for electric and magnetic fields, I'd have base line periodic ref results to check this against.

Anyway I did say if it was me:) maybe Aisling&M knows whats really going on!!!

Cameras and tapes etc would come afterwards for me, it's funny how we'd all approach it differently.

    :)

I think I will have to get some sort of electrical equipment just out of curiosity. I have a strong feeling that the fridge is reacting to one particular spirits, actually two but wont discount the possibility of it being a coincidence!

Thanks a mil for the responses!

Aishling, thats sounds odd, you'll have to see if you can pick up on anything.
A strange thing happened here the other night. At 10.10pm on the 10th of Oct (!)
A lightbulb fell out of the living room lights, it came off the metal base (so I thought it was just dodgy glue), but thinking about it, the bulb didn't smash and it didn't fall straight down (it would have hit the hubby!), it flew across the room and landed near the window.
I don't see how that could have happened normally, if it was a natural occurance would it not have just fallen straight down and smashed?
I must set up a night vision camera here, been meaning to do it for months now.

Maybe you should record the tapping. Morse code or something?

    You never know.....

Yeah something like "Help, let me out!"

I'm surprised no one has said anything about the ghost in the machine yet!!

I have known this to happen alot with the smaller slim bulbs, usually the ones where there are 3 or 4 of them in the one fitting.
Usually there is a pop and the glass bit from the bulb can fly off across the room and land without the glass breaking. There is a vacum in the bulbs and with the heat/pressure and the different levels of expansion between the glass and the metal can pop the connection between the two, typically these types of fittings dont angle the bulbs down like a normal light they usually have them angled around the room so when they do pop they dont shoot down, but they shoot across the room in the direction they were pointing.

Obviously it could be the sugar puff marshmellow man dancing of the roof of your house too.

This bulb shot across the room in totally the opposite direction that it was pointing, thats what makes it so odd.
We've had the same light fitting for 16 years and never had this happen before.

Try and unplug the fridge for a bit and do what you did before and see if you get anything!

I'll buy the fridge off you for 20p, its obviously faulty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 497 ✭✭Aisling&M

It's been turned off and on since and it hasn't made any real noise since the last group night! I'll have to wait and see what happens next week! It'd be nice to have something interesting happening in a physical way!

Although it's possible that the origins are paranormal, I'd get someone out to have a look at it mechanically speaking. It could be faulty, and although it may seem interesting now, it could be pretty dangerous if it's faulty wiring or something else in it that could end up burning down your home. Better safe than sorry!
