I'd wager that they already have a deck.

But you might be able to find something of interest at the House of Astrology on Parliament Street.

There are lots of places, and I love the above two but just wanted to recommend the Thoth Tarot Deck - Aleister Crowley. Everyone who has seen mine just loves them.........also get the smaller cards rather than the huge ones.....that was a big mistake of mine.....too big to shuffle and fit on a normal table! :)

    'normal sized ones"

I disagree with this and if the person is starting out would suggest the the Original Rider Waite Tarot Deck, it they have this already then i would suggest the Tarot of the Witches but if the name is off putting then I would suggest
    Morgan-Greer Tarot.

It takes time to learn to schuffle the larger cards and is to my mind part of learning to used and work with your deck.

I meant to say I recommend the regular (playing card size ones).....I got the massive ones....A6 size roughly which prove to me that bigger isn't always better.
    :)

Tarot cards tend to be slightly wider then playing cards and about +50% in lenght.
I still think that learning how to shuffle them is part of learning tarot and the fact you have to be more mindful of what you are doing.
Yes some times cards can pop out as you shuffle but some times that happens for a reason.

Just another quick idea.......if they do vouchers, why not get him one or write out a card saying you could go shopping together for the cards? That way he could pick out his own but still be getting them as a gift from you!
And it does come down to personal preferences at the end of the day.

Well tarot cards have a histroy and tradition of gifting attached to them,
that you don't buy them for yourself.

IF you are buying cards for someone a nice thing to do is also to get them a scarf or wrap to keep them in.
