What does eveyone think of The Game?

He's recently left Aftermath to go with Geffen. I've heard that it's over the G - Unit record label and he hasn't fallen out with Dre. Does anyone know more about this?

I've heard One Blood and Strip Club - I'm not sure if either will appear on his new album. Does anyone know if Dre will be involved in it? I think Doctors Advocate was called 'The Most Anticipated Album of the Year' by XXL.

Dre isn't involved in the new album.I heard 'One Blood'(which I presume is on the new album),great beat and hook but the video stinks.Average rapper, nothing special he has just got great producers behind him.

if the game left aftermath then y would his upcoming album still be called the doctors advocate?it would be a stupid name if dre wasnt even working with him.id like to see some proof of the game having left aftermath, sure hes still mentioned as part of aftermath on there website.so could ya put up alink as to where you read this?

he left aftermath about 2/3 months ago.

and as regards changing the name, why on earth would he do that, do you even know what "advocate" means?

Dre seems to have a habit of starting off with his upcoming artists then letting them off to other producers who work with many other Interscope artists, after the rappers have established themselves and don't need his help anymore. basically just get them to the top, then sit back and do nothing and collect up some royalties while putting work into the next big thing to come along.

One Blood is decent enough, wasn't a huge fan when i heard it first but it's grown on me. thankfully they're not putting it out as a proper single though, i don't think it's remotely marketable among the usual daytime radio listeners over here.

Strip Club, good enough, love the production on it, sounds very much like Dre's recent stuff too. the only part i don't like is the bits in between lines of the chorus that game does, it sounds a bit weird, although the chrous itself is grand.

only heard a clip of Hustler's Dream but it sounds pretty promising so far.

looking forward to the 2 feturing Nas, and i'd imagine the Mary J Blige one will be a single.

OP: he was signed to both G-Unit record and Aftermath and basically went with Geffen to get out of his contract so he didn't have to release TDA under G-Unit. they're both owned by Interscope so it's of little consequence in the grand scheme of things as he'll get the same producers as he would have with Gunit/Aftermath.

Have only heard Strip Club, its a drive around club tune nod your head fcuking banger. Who produced it, Storch? Had assumed twas a Dre one when I heard it. Sure to god hope its the lead single, at least that way it`ll get club play/heavy radio play.

so the following 3 have become available in the recent past:

The Game - 7 - Ol' English (prod. by Timbaland)
The Game - 12 - Doctor's Advocate (feat. Busta Rhymes) (prod. by Jonathan Rotem)
The Game - 17 - Why You Hate The Game (feat. Nas + Marsha of Floetry) (prod. by Just Blaze)

Ol' English is my favourite of the lot, nice laid back feel to it. The whistle and "la la" are nice touches.
Why You Hate The Game is pretty good too, if a bit long, should probably have faded out around the 5 minute mark, i'd imagine if they make a single out of it that it'll end there, maybe an edit or 2 in the middle to get it down to around 4mins. the last 4 minutes are pretty unneccesary. Nas's verse is decent enough. although should really have had another in there somewhere.
Not really into the title track, sounds a bit too much like that "Never Be Friends" from some mixtape that he had out ages ago, before The Documentary i think.

Its looking like its going to be pretty incredible from a production point of view.

Jonathon Rotem's stuff is plain average though.

Games gone to the black wall street not Geffen

no, he's gone to geffen, he was always with Black Wall Street, the record company he owns.

all the tracks have leaked now apart from All Around The World, and a full version of I'm Chillin .

liking it alot, although there's no huge obvious singles or big club bangers on it IMO. alot rawer sound to it than The Documentary, alot more introverted and reflective too.

favourite songs would be Ol' English, Why You Hate The Game, Wouldn't Get Far, and California Vacation.

pretty much all the guests put in good performances too. Kanye's verse is the weakest of the lot i think. Snoop and Nas both do a great job.

Boring album. Another lesson in how to drop names. The Game needs to stop believing the hype and put his ego aside.

The Documentary is better and that's not up to much either.

and him and dre moved on to other things. end of story.

    Who said anything about Dre?

This album is far from class. The Game is a one trick pony.

I disagree.Production is excellent throughout, and there are far worse MC's out there then the Game.Flawed and overhyped yes, but hardly boring.

At the very least the Game respects Hip-Hop's pioneers-a quality sorely lacking in most new MC's.

Respect is one thing, substituting name dropping for lyrics is a whole other kettle of fish. The most cringeworthy part of the album was when he copied the end of All About U and replaced the names with Young Jeezy and the like.

Production didn't grab me in the least but it certainly wasn't bad. It's a well put together album, however the production is not the weak link here. Cliched gangster rap lyrics went out of fashion ten years ago, somebody needs to let him know. Maybe if he had spent less time getting into petty beefs and releasing diss track after diss track he might have had a better album.

To me this was boring and uninspired. Nothing stood out as spectacular and it all just blended in to mediocrity. He could probably make a very good album if he didn't get distracted so easily. It's all just a bit gimmicky.
