    Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a low tech easy way to check notes to see if they are counterfit rather than buying a UV light or can I get them cheap and locally?

I've seen a pen that you can buy - sort of looks like one of those thick whiteboard markers. You draw on the note and if it's a fake, the marker makes a mark, otherwise nothing.

I just checked in a 2-year old Maplin catalogue that I have here and they had introduced it at a cost of €8.29. Try there.

sometimes you can pick them up in the €2 shops.

Have a look at the security features on the notes.
Check the hologram first under a bright light.
you can feel the note too
learn the water marks and the way the number above the watermark is half printed on each side and only fully seen up to the light
    microprinting on the metal strip
on the back of the note the stripe that's like the glisten you get off a slug trail
the windows on the front have ridges you can feel
