Just back from gym now and thought I'd post up a review if there's anyone in the area looking at this board and thinking of joining.

Facilities:
Gym (with slides:D )
Pool
Sauna
Steam Room
Tanning Booths

Cleanliness 10/10

Showers cleaned on a regular basis during the busy periods, during the day time they're not cleaned as often but that's because they ain't used as much.

Pool, Sauna and Steam Room are always very clean.

Cardio Machines 10/10

The entire second floor is devoted to all the machines you expect and they're all in top nick, only 2 years old or so. A warm-up area is also included with the usual mats, swiss balls and medicine balls

Classes 8/10

Most are free and are held in the 3 fitness studios on the second floor. Yoga/Pilates studio on the third floor at the very back. Haven't used any of the classes but from the list I see they do almost every class type available.

Weights10/10

All on the third floor, which is sectioned off into four areas with dividing walls. First area is all machine weights with circuit training machines also. Area for stretching, situps, core work etc with small db racks which I presume are for the majority of women and beginners as they only go up to 10kgs.

Second Quarter comprises of 3 flat bench, 3 incline bench, 1 Shoulder Press, 3 Squat Racks, 2 Preacher Curls, Smith Rack (benching and squatting with cables), Leg Press and a Cross Cable/Pull Up machine.

Third Quarter comprises of 14 benches of different styles. 12 Dumbbell racks which to me is quite impressive considering other gyms I've seen. Only problem I could see with this is that the DB's stop at 50kg which a tiny few people may have problems with.

Friendliness 6/10

Not exactly the greatest if your by yourself as it's not a great place to meet people if you don't know many people. However once you get on with one or two you'll find you'll get on with most. (Applies to Weights section)

Instructors 8/10

Most of them are fairly decent and seem to get on with most people. Few of them there actually know what they're talking about which obviously helps newcomers etc.

Value 8/10

As a student I'm paying €450 but only because I work beside the place in Liffey Valley. Normal charge is €550 per year, they offer usual discount rates for couples, families and corporate malarky too.

Overall 9/10

Busy gym with a lot of members especially a lot of eastern europeans (which is no bad thing), great equipment range and aesthically it's a very pleasing place. Only prob can be when it gets very busy in the evening time as you have to wait around to do the odd exercise.

Go there myself 2-3 times a week agree with it not been overly friendly but if you know somebody there it's good. . .

the cardio machines tend to get busy after 7.30 so if you can your possibly better off gettin there before hand.

they included slides as there are alot of parents who bring there kids down to it
