Heard on Radio today that Series 3 starts on Tuesday 31st October at 10pm. The DJ sounded fairly definite and is a big fan. Hopefully it's true.

can't be any worse than the lucozade ads :D
I will be away that week
Any chance sky will show ep1 before rte show ep2?

I don't think so. This probably isn't the right place to do a survey, but I'd bet the majority of those watching Lost from ABC - or non-broadcast TV generally are doing so on one of:
    1) A PC/laptop connected to a TV via TV Out
    2) A Divx DVD player
    3) A modified Xbox with DivX capable XBMC

RTE will only be 4 episodes behind the US.
    Thats pretty impressive.

any news on if they will show 1 ep a week for the first arc[first 6]then take a hugh break till it starts again in america?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 481 ✭✭SoSueMe

Yes they will be taking a break once the first 6 episodes finish but will resume in Febuary when the final 17 episodes return.

ITs pretty impressive for RTE to be the first country outside the US and Canada to have shown the new series.

I am assuming that RTE will use Champions League and Christmas to slow down their showing of the programme.

Now if only they can do something about 24 :)

Lost goes on a three mont hiatus after the first 6 episodes which RTE will have finished showing on December 5th. So Christmas won't affect the airing as there will not be any episodes available to RTE from ABC.

As for Champions League the matches usually finish before 10PM so it wont affect Lost.

RTE have to be on the ball now that Sky are competing with them. Like Sky One expect RTe to show the final 17 episodes within a week of the Us airing them.

RTE gave up giving 24 a decent timeslot after season 3. Its just filler to them now, which is unfortunate if people don't have Sky.

My thinking was that it would look like that they had lost on with good filler shows during Champions League Matches and Highlights and then Christmas.

Oh for all of the CSI fans out there, I guess LOST is taking over on Tuesday Nights.

No its just plain stupidity since many people don't watch sky one because of all of the Add breaks.

I don't understand. That sentence is phrased badly.

I'm guessing they were planning on starting it in the usual Monday slot after The Panel ended its run in January?

    YAY!

I saw the advert a while ago.
I was really surprised to see that it starts in a week and a bit time.
I thought that we would have to wait until February/March of next year.

    I'm soooooo happy.

Hats off to RTE on this one. God knows they get an awful lot wrong, but they've got it right this time. Only 4 eps behind the US is as soon as I've ever seen anything shown on RTE. In fairness they were also quick in showing the Sopranos earlier this year. Its in the middle of its run on E4 now.
