    PC crashed with Excel open.

WHen it gives the option of opening a recovered file and you decline is it possible to open it later, - I mean is the alternate version saved somewhere as a tmp file ?

    Kinda important - work related.

    Hi,

You may be better off not opening excel at all after your computer reboots. Maybe try opening up MS ACCESS and import your excel sheet into access ... just in case you Excel destroys your file altogether.

Go to Tools=>Options and the "save" tab in excel. This shows where your current autorecover files are saved.

I had tried that Petes but no "SAVE" tab, or option that I can find :(

do u have the original file?

open excel, file -> open, then browse to the file.

click on the file once to highlight it.

then beside the open buttn, you'll see a little arrow sorta drop down menu thing.

there should be an option in there to open and recover.
