I have to say I wasn't a great fan of his originally however he gained my total respect as he was extremely brave going out to play when he still receiving treatment. I fully expected him to pull though so it's a massive shock and a great loss. R.I.P.

Ah Jesus, thats terrible, thought the poor chap was on the mend. He was a cracking player. Th ematch where he beat Ronnie in the Masters Final a couple of years back(10-9) was one of the best I've seen. Would have definitely won a world title but for his illness. R.I.P

****! He was not only a fine player but one of the few who seemed to have any character and wit. I remember that final too. My mum will be sad (she liked him!).

That's a desperate shame.. I was under the impression he was on the mend, it's a bit of a shock to hear he's passed away. Very talented player, I fully expected to see him take the World Championship at least once, and he also seemed to be a very likeable and humble guy. Rest in peace.

Absolutely gutted. Can't believe he died. I hadn't realised the cancer had come back so strong. He was a fantastic player and will be remembered as such.

Earned my respect for the interval sessions with his wife!!

    He'll be sadly missed. RIP

Wow, I can't believe it, I knew he was sick with cancer but didn't realise how bad it gotten.
Whats worse is he has a new born daughter :(

    Really puts things into perspective.

My sentiments exactly. So few snooker players evoke any emotion these days, good or bad. A sad loss.

    V. sad. There will be a dark shadow over the snooker tour this year.

Very sad, interviewed him in City West a couple of years ago, was a gent.

Was only admitted to a hospice on Friday evening - a minutes silence to be held before all the play at the Spawell tomorrow.

a great player who came across very well in interviews and it appears was as well liked amongst his peers as he was with his fans. a huge loss to the game. 27 years old with a baby daughter, really does put things in perspective. RIP

What a sad day for snooker, sport in general and mostly, his young family. My thoughts are certainly with them at this time.

He really was a great player, a huge addition to the sport, and a great ambassabor for the game of snooker. It seems a bit surreal really. I remember the shock when it became public that he was battling with cancer but I don't think it crossed anyone's mind that he wouldn't beat it. I hadn't heard anything for a while so I suppose the news of his death came as an even bigger shock.

I will remember him for his eternal good humour and smiles regardless of what his scoreline read. He could always share a joke in a very good humoured way with his opponent.

He really will be missed. RIP.
