Contract employment - entitlements?

    Hi,

I was working at the Ryder Cup a few weeks ago through an agency- I wont disclose the name just yet. Anyway I was sent out a letter detailing that I was required to work on such a day, Wednesday to be exact. Anyway I showed up for work on the Wednesday but after sitting on the coach for an hour and a half waiting to leave we were told the golf that day was called off and sent home. I am just wondering am I still entitled to a full days pay for that day?

I showed up for work and they broke their side of the contract so I believe I should!

Furthermore does any person know the act that says you are entitled to a pay slip. I don't believe they will give me one but I want one as I think they are going to rip me off, for hours worked and exact rate of pay...

Also, I still haven't been paid yet, but that's another story - a badly trained chimp would do a better job IMO!

    I'd appreciate your help

    Thanks
    Paul
