NTL Digital VCR Dilemma!

    Hi all,
New to board and just a bit imtimidated by the jargon being bounced around so apologies in advance for this one! I recently got NTL digital, which so far so good. The luvely chap from NTL connected everything up (spaghetti junction of cables and wires between my tv, dvd player and digital box thingy (two scart cables :D ). Just one thing..my VCR won't tape from the TV anymore, even when digital box switched off..is it ok to re-tune my TV through the VCR when the digital box is switched off or will this completely f*** up my connection/settings!
Any advice greatly appreciated, and yes I did ask the NTL man but he had practically no english so couldn't catch a word. Oops.
    Thanks in advance

Feed TV aerial cable into VHS.
Feed VHS aerial cable out patch cord in to TV.

So set it all as was in the time before the digital box got hooked up?

I tend to find some of the installers just disconnect a vcr that was connected to the TV via scart to make space for the stb scart. Then don't bother tuning the vcr onto a number on the TV.

If you got one of the small stb's(vcr tape size) then setup should be as follows... coax lead from wall outlet into stb...coax output of stb into input of vcr...coax output of vcr into tv.The two scart outputs of the stb...one into tv one into vcr. If your tv only has two scart sockets you'll need one for the stb and the other for your dvd player(the vcr is already connected via the coax leads). From the sounds of things you'll need to manualy tune in the vcr onto 0 or first available number.

Hope that, along with Wattys info, helps you out.;)

Never thought I'd utter these words but thanks Mr Tax Man!! I think all is connected ok as per your reply but I need to retune the TV channels through the video while the ntl box is switched off. I've tuned vid into a channel but wasn't brave enough to do the whole analog tuney-thingy (see I'm highly technical)
    Thanks again, your'e a gem. ;)
