iPod Track List Order Problem

    Hi,

On my iPod, the track lists on some albums are out of order!
They appear in order on iTunes, and the track numbers are all correctly inputted, but then on the actual iPod they're scrambled...
for example, the track list for ( ) by Sigur Rós appears
    Untitled 1
    Untitled 2
    Untitled 4
    Untitled 6
    Untitled 3
    Untitled 7
    Untitled 5
    Untitled 8

Has anyone else encountered this problem and/or knows how to fix it??

    Thanks!

Is it all albums or that particular album?

and, forgive my ignorance, but is the title of the album "( )"?

If so, rename the album "brackets" or something and copy to the ipod again and see if the track order is restored. I wonder if it has something got to do with "invalid" filename characters.

For example, some albums replace ' with _ etc.

    L.

Are the track names filled in correctly in the ID3 tags of the MP3 files?

    Bump

I'm having this problem too. At first it was just with two albums (Arvo Pärt's 'Alina' and 'Tabula Rasa', the former is now fixed for some reason), but it started happening to other albums that have been on my iPod for months without alteration: Opeth's 'Blackwater Park', Devin Townsend's 'Terria' and Keith Jarrett's 'At the Blue Note, CD3'.

It's irritating as hell, because I've tried everything: re-entering track numbers, altering the album name, deleting the albums from my iPod and putting them back on... But still, nothing.

you need to "Get Info" on iTunes and put in the names there...that should work

That's the way I've always used, from the very beginning of my relationship with iTunes, as I suspect most people do.

I'm wondering if it's a firmware flaw, because I've tried absolutely everything.
