If you can use normal AA's or even AAA's then you can use rechargable batteries.

Only NiMH batteries or Alkalines. So says Fuji. You will want a lot of them too.

Isn't the point of rechargables is that you don't need a lot of them.

I have the Fuji S7000 and I have tried rechargables but they don't last feck all. Seriously, from what I remember you'd be lucky to get 20 or 30 shots. I usually buy a packet of 20 Duracells etc. in Power City or similar.

I'm the same. Can't be bothered. You can't get a decent charger and they last no time. Decent Duracells last for a good time.

Make sure the rechargable batteries have a power rating of at least 1700mAh. In fact if you can get ones that are rated at 2500mAh all the better.

If they have a lower power rating they're useless! They last no time at all.

I use 2500mAh and 2100mAh batteries. They tend to last about 100 shots in typical use (aperature or manual mode, saving as raw, very little use of the review function, copying files to PC, mainly using viewfinder.).

I have 5 sets of batteries, but only 3 in use at any one time.

NiMH batteries dont like being left in storage. After about 2 weeks they seem to be close to no charge again. They also dont like being left un-used in the camera. After about a week of non-use they will be close to dead.

Thats why I stopped using them. Such a pain managing them, some uncharged, some charged. And last no time at all. That was just in a MiniDisc.

I had 8 so it meant that 4 in the camera and 4 always charged if needed. Meant charging batteries a lot especially if you use the viewfinder to take the photo's.
