What is the minimum recommended dish size for Astra 1 just outside Belfast ?

Will a Maplin suitcase dish do or a $ky minidish (pointed at 19E instrad of 28E or should I go for a full 60cm dish ?

For all the channels in rain 80cm.

For most of the channels not raining, a Minidish or camping dish.
60cm is very small. The zone two Sky Dish is 65cm

Yeah, a Sky Zone2 minidish will work on Astra1, but as watty says, for reliable signals in rainy weather, 80cm is best.

Check www.lyngsat.com or www.kingofsat.com for exact dish sizes. Also make sure that you have a free line of sight to the position you want to point the dish at...

A rule of thumb: Twice the distance to the obstacle as the hight of the obsatcle and you should go well clear...
