Just swapped over my FTA receiver for a digibox (no card), can't seem to get the BBs or ITVs onto the EPG or even the favourites,, is this restriction on them or is there a way round it

I'm in the same boat, I don't think that there's any way around it....

I assume OP that you have a Digibox with no card, and cant get the ITVs and BBCs onto the EPG. Although you cant edit the EPG on the boxes, you can get them to load a UK EPG which will give you the BBCs and ITVs in the same order as in the UK. First just try unplugging the box and plugging it back in without a card. It should default to the UK EPG (unless Sky are copping on). You can also try putting in a card upside down into the card slot, then go to Sky News Active and remove the card, when you back out of it the box should go into SEARCHING.. mode and come back up with the UK EPG. Lastly you can try doing a New Installation.
Go to Services > System Setup. Press 0-1-SELECT to bring up the installers menu. Go to new installation and select it. It will perform a channel scan and will eventually complain about a phone not being present. Ignore it and go back to the TV guide. It should say searching or be blank, but eventually if you are lucky, it will default to the UK EPG.

Lastly, if none of these tricks work, get a UK expired Sky card or a UK Freesat from Sky FTV card, these are activated UK cards that will work in any box and will also decode Channel 4 and Channel 5. Inserting this card into your box will load up the UK EPG automatically. Provided you never connect the box to a phone line it wil continue working until the cards are replaced again by Sky.

Or with any kind of card in slot.
Press red or text on Sky news.
    Wait for interactive to load.
Remove the card, do not insert anything again
    press backup. Ignore error messages.

The UK EPG will load without C4 and Five

Aye, I've tried watty's method recently, and it works flawlessly! Very handy for those with cancelled subs.
