The image you linked, it says no longer exists. It is best to scan in safe mode when a minimal number of files are loaded and when the virus probably won't be running. Its not like this, is it?

Download/install/update Ewido. Then reboot in Safe Mode and run it.
    http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
It's a 14-day trial, but it most definitely does the job.
For good measure, run the Smitfraud program from here as well:
    http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix_En.php

And as always: get the latest(!) HijackThis to see what programs are running

The file http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v355/Atlas_IRL/?action=view&current=****ed.jpg&refPage=&imgAnch=imgAnch1 exists, but where the *** is, enter in f u c k (without the spaces). Boards filter filtered it out, thus the link doesn't seem to work.

It is not a virus. But it is malware.

Adaware or microsoft anti spyware should clear that up for you.

Try www.trend.com and do a free scan. you may not have to reboot.

    also

    www.avast.com

allows you to download and install a trial version for 3 months of a home version for free

    I agree.
I was reparing a blokes machine a while back and he was absolutely riddled with the same type of viruses/malware.

    Install Avast Free virus software.
Run a boot time scan and repair.....possibly twice.
    Then run Ewido and HijackThis.

It was the only way I could clear it up.

ok ill try that it has actually gotten worse this is the first time i have gotten into it without it crashing(am on a different profile to my one)

it affects firefox but not internet explorer

some of the problems ive had have been computer starting up in 256 colours/system resourses at 80-100% thus causing the dreaded blue screen of death/their is a blue bar that kept coming up just above the start menu that said static, when this came up the computer would freeze.

ill post up a hijack this log if i can although i dont know if will show the infected files if i am in this profile

i also done a system restore on the infected profile but it just caused the computer to crash in to the blue screen

-thanks for the help so far.

Best to do the scans in safe mode. Also the virus could have infected your system restore points, so when you restore, you restore the virus also.

Not really sure where you would start there. but safe mode is a must

Clear out items from internet explorer safe/trusted zone
check startup items with msconfig.exe. Untich all but necessary
Check system.ini and win.ini for run= commands that seem wrong.

Do not delete anything just rem them out

Any processes running should be checked online and killed if dodgy

Then try and run an good anti spyware scanner. I have had success with Spyware Doctor where others have failed. Slow but really does the job.

After that try and create a restore point.

Reboot to normal mode while crossing your fingers.

Often it is easier to reinstall everything that clean an infection
