    hello all,

The story is im looking to hit the online scene. I've played a bit on party poker earlier in the summer, but i absolutely hated every thing about it. Especially thier game sturctures wasnt very micro limit freindly.

Now I'm a fairly decent live game player. I'm a student  so im restricted to playing with my mates in home games and in the odd low buy in tourney or free rolls. To be honest i'm succesful in all these.

Now i'm looking to start playing with an online poker room that allows bank transfer. AFAIK its pretty simple with paddypower poker, and was wondering

    1. if they are decent for new online players.

    2. Is they're any other reccomendations

    3. where can i get some deposit codes for suitable clients, i understand this day and age, you should look for a deposit bonus.

    Regards,

Paddy power are very friendly with micro limits and you dont even need a bank transfer. Set up an online account without credit card, go into any of their bookies office and ask to lodge money into your online account, just give them your username and name and its done instantly with no fees.

Check their website about deposit bonuses but i dont think their great for these!

p.s paddypower would be more suitable to low stakes players IMHO, it seems that once you hit the higher stakes STT's eg €50 there is fewer and fewer games starting. cant really comment on cash games but MTT have plenty to suit high and low stakes players.

    For bonuses check out BonusWhores.

Are you looking to play mainly STTs, MTTs or cash games?
Tribeca (PaddyPower, DoylesRoom, VC etc.) have awful tourny structures, so if you're mainly going to be playing them I'd avoid it.

Whats wrong with the tourney structure, can u please explain. Ive only played on PPP and PP and both the STT's & MTT's seem very similar, what am i missing??

    STTs
The 8 minute structure is fine for STTs in my opinion. For the first few levels you get between 6-10 hands at each level depending on player speed (its obviously not ideal when u only get 6 hands). As people get knocked out you get through more hands at each level which is great (I'd a super STT last night which had 100 games in the first 5 levels mainly because we were 4 handed by midway through level2).
Other sites (e.g, Crypto and Ladbrokes) have a fixed no. of hands per level (10 in Crypto's case) which is great in the early stages but sucks when you get shorthanded. Also if people are slow the first 2 or 3 levels can take 20 minutes each.

    MTTs.
Not so good. Because you stay 9 handed all the way through to the late stages, the 8 minute clock is a killer and turns the game into a crap shoot - i've played frustating games where I only see 6 hands per level for an hour or more.
The payout structure is also poor, with only the top27 getting paid even with 1000 runners, and also the payout is very top heavy with too large a percentage going to first and second.

I agree with the MTT, so much so that i just dont play them anymore on PPP. After a few rounds your blinds keep get eaten away with everybody going all in, and even if you do get all in its likely 3 or 4 will be in the showdown.

What way are the MTT's on Party Poker, are they any good. Id love to play a proper MTT where you get 8,000 chips starting and the blinds dont go up every 8 mins, its too soon. Is there any such place??

Bugsyroom also has 10k starting stack with 10 minute clock for all mtt's under $50 and 15 minutes clock for any mtt above that.
