    Hi all,

I have sky and recently the reception isn't great i.e. i'm not able to get chanels that I used to get all along e.g. golf channel, player, and most setanta sports channels( yes I pay sub for setanta).
I know that when there are heavy clouds somtimes I cant get a reception but I'm talking about on a perfectly clear day I still cant get these channels.

Is there a booster I can get and if so where and how much.

    All help appreciated.

    Thanks

It is your dish alignment or LNB skew. The cable from the dish is already after the "start" of the receiver (LNB), unless your coax is over 40m long a booster will have no effect.

Unless your cable is rotted or damaged or not satellite grade.

Check your signal level and quality bars. If signal is high and quality low then it is LNB rotation (Skew). If Signal is less than 70% then it might be dish alignment. If less than 50% definately dish alignment, if your cable is OK.

I am getting picture breaking up & no siganl being received. The funny thing is it starts on Sunday afternoon & continues trough to Monday evenings.
By Tuesday for the rest of the week its grand this has happened like clockwork for the past 3 weeks & 2 other neighbours are having the same. I am in the Dublin 9 area, any ideas?

I am trying to faultfind on this. I have a satfinder connected at the box. When the signal drops off to nothing the satfinder still lights even with sensitivity on the lowest, would this suggest the fault is with the digibox?
    Any help would be appriciated.

    Sounds like local interference.

You are using proper double screened foil + braid "satellite"coax? (keeps out interference and stops satsignal leaking out).

The digibox can only power the Satfinder and no Digibox fault would happen at a particular times. It is local equipment of some nature. What nearby establishments are running something from Sunday afternoon till Monday evening? Is it any other time?

The signal & quality meter bars on the Digibox will drop if there is a very strong signal on a another channel, which will register on the sat finder.

Thanks watty , I think I'll try a mates digibox & see what happens. It is starting to happen more regular than before. Would a satfinder be good enough to realign the dish if I try adjusting it.
