Games Like Halo

Want to get a new game for the 360.

Any games like Halo out there.

I'm looking for a first person shooter like Halo.

Well.. not really.. that's sort of the reason everyone is going mental over Halo3 and it's constantly evolving release dates. There aren't that many decent FPS on the 360 yet full stop, Oblivion is technically an FPS but it's mainly an RPG so that could put you off. Do NOT get Perfect Dark Zero, it's quite possibly the biggest gaming disappointment ever. Gears of War is a 3rd-person/FPS type-thing, but that's not out yet... you're outta luck for the near future my friend, if you're really desperate get something like Black (Xbox game, should run on 360 emulator) or perhaps Far Cry Instincts, neither are much like Halo but are FPS nonetheless.

Would Quake 4 be like Halo?

Think I might just get Half Life 2 to keep me ticking over for a while

If you aint played half life2 until now, you should be shot

Quake 4 is like halo, if by like halo you mean "sc-fi themed fps"

But other than that, no quake 4 isn't nearly as god as halo imo.
It uses the terrible doom 3 engine, and most of the entire game takes place in small corridors, with very little enemy's on screen at the same time.

I have HL2 for the pc but not he Xbox.

Stuck in corridors doesnt seem all that appealing.

It sure doesnt, but thats just my opinion on quake.

Rainbow six vegas is out in November on the 360.. and half life2/episode 1/portal/tf 2/and episode 2 are being launched as a bundle on the 360 when episode 2 is released for pc That's worth waiting for

I know there in only Halo. Have them all for the Xbox and PC.

But these days all I do is play Halo on the 360 and I'm looking for one of them killker next gen cames for the 360.

I've waited this long. A couple more months for Halo 3 wont matter to much

call of duty 2 - it's sustaining me through times of frustration (and boredom) with halo 2
excellant game on & offline - get it (i thinks you can get it for under €50 now)

In the update when halo wars was firstly annouced on bungie.net they stated "Halo 3 is still on schedule for a march 2007 release, the development of halo wars by wingnut interative will not affect the h3 launch"

Or something similar.

There is no official launch date for Halo 3 yet. The March and November dates are pure speculation, as is my favourite of 07/07/07

There is NO date set in stone, but bungie have plans for march 2007, but wont officially annouce it.

That's not what they actually said, though you're right in that it is similar.

First, Halo Wars is being created by Ensemble Studios, not Wingnut Interactive

Second, the March 2007 date possibly comes from mis-remembering this section from the Bungie Weekly Update:

A few select team members have been chosen to liaise and interface with Wingnut Interactive and in fact, the sharing of ideas and technology with Wingnut Interactive and to some extent, WETA Digital, will likely bring creative benefits to Bungie as we complete our scheduled march to finish and release Halo 3 in 2007. Thanks to careful planning and good use of resources, these new projects have added not one single day to our schedule.

There's a big difference between
"our scheduled march to finish and release Halo 3 in 2007"
and
"Halo 3 is still on schedule for a march 2007 release"



As I said before:

There is no publically announced official release date for Halo 3

This is not intended as a flame, I'm just correcting some mis-statements on your part. You may be right that it will be March 2007, but nothing Bungie has publically stated supports your assertion.

and the bit "bungie have plans for march 2007" is what I was referring to. I know you said there's no date set in stone, but the rest of your statement seems to me to be saying that you know that Bungie plans to release it in March 2007 but have not made it official. Do you have any evidence to support that assertion?

Don't get me wrong, if you have something to back it up with, then great! It's just that at the moment I believe that any release date for Halo 3 is pure speculation.
