This week's terror plot and the media silence

    Large haul of chemicals used to make explosives found, in addition to a rocket launcher and a nuclear biological suit found in Britain. No mention on BBC or ITN as yet. Why not you ask. Because these terror suspects are not Muslim. Are you surprised?

    Via Lenin...

    "Police officers raided a home in Lancashire on Monday night and uncovered a huge cache of chemicals used to make explosives. Officers say it is the largest haul of such chemicals ever found in this country. One man has already appeared in front of Burnley magistrates charged under the Explosives Substances Act 1883. Another man has also been charged after a raid on his house uncovered rocket launcher and a nuclear biological suit.

    You'd have thought this would be national front page news, wouldn't you? After all the hype, at last we have solid evidence of terrorists attempting to perpetrate a murderous outrage on the population - prosecutors say the pair had "some kind of master plan".

    Except, of course, that the men charged are not Asian Islamists, but white fascists. Robert Cottage, who has been charged for the explosives haul, stood for the BNP in Colne at the last elections. More details here, here and here."

    Just goes to show that the police in the UK are not just focusing on muslims, they are going after anyone who causes trouble.

    why do people forget that the media are not about reporting news they are about income generation, crazy towel heads bring in the case much more than the BNP. the evening hysterical always gets a bump in circulation everytime it sticks a rachael o'reilly story on the front of it, its about shifting things not the news...

    One of the men has been charged under the ... Act:

    "The Explosive Substances Act 1883

    The Explosive Substances Act 1883 <Archbold, 23-62> creates offences of:

    * Section 2 - Causing an explosion likely to endanger life or cause serious injury to property;
    * Section 3(1)(a) - Doing any act with intent to cause, or conspiring to cause, an explosion by means of an explosive substance likely to endanger life;
    * Section 3(1)(b) - Making, possessing or controlling an explosive substance with intent to cause an explosion likely to endanger life;
    * Section 4 - Making or possessing explosives under suspicious circumstances."

    http://cps.gov.uk/legal/section12/chapter_a.html#_Toc44580523

    Is this related to the Terrorism Act 2006?

    "the media are not about reporting news they are about income generation"

    Would you agree that failing to report the "the largest haul of such chemicals ever found in this country" is tantamount to an attempt to deceive the reader?

    The media constantly attempt to portray the Muslim community as the foreunners in terrorism, and here we have something that doesn't fit the bill, so it gets ignored. This is a disgrace.

    The massive publicity the last 'great Muslim plot' got is in stark contrast to this 'non-event' and there was precious little evidence in comparison.

    So the media is in it for money, who doesn't know this? Alot of people. Many, if not most people, look to the mainstream news media to find out what goes on in the world. Their political views are shaped by this. This is the important aspect of this story.

    I cant answer why they dont report it, but i would say that the BNP are not as "sexy" as Al-Q

    it is but if people rely on the hearld, star, sun, sky news etc to form their political views then there is a different set of problems

    The raid and arrest date back to February and the plod _at the time_ stressed the haul of chemicals was not a bomb factory .

    Now the CPS has charged him under the old explosives act and not the recent terrorist acts

    Probably up to no good , but up to what ???? , the fascisti in England has this natter about it at the time of the raid.

    He _may_ be being prosecuted since the recent binary explosives incident in August highlighted that 1+ 1 'harmless substances' = bomb . If he were not it could be their defence ...non???

    Gotta love stuff like this. Wheres the outrage?!? If these were Muslims I would see 1000's of diatribes about how evil Muslims are all over the media and message boards the world over.

    This bizare double standard for non Muslim terrorists show just how intolerant some people are. Thankfully those people are in the minority and most right and free thinking people hate terrorism no matter the perpetrators.

    This is really nothing new tbh. Anyone remember the explosives put on the railway tracks in Ireland only a few months ago? For those that don't it was the RIRA that did (afair). Barely a footnote on the news.

    There was even a huge raid about a year after 2001 where they got a group of neo-nazis in the US that were on the brink of pulling of terrorist attacks that would of made 9/11 look like childrens party. Yet that never made anything but the local news until some months later and then was quickly dropped.

    Likewise as soon as it was found out that the Antrax attacks where not in fact Muslims but came from US military they rarely if ever popped up on the news.

    See the problem is you can control the population by fear, however they just need one thing to fear. If you start pointing out that you have just as much to fear from one group of nutjobs as another then people start thinking rationally again or go under thier bed and start crying. Either way not good for control.

    also remember that the security services in the US and UK normally know what the white nazis are up to but do not know what the jihadis are up to....... cue a known knowns rant a la rumsfeld.

    Its easier to stoke up paranoia about and against the unknown and yes Hobbes, one bogeyman at a time . Anybody remember when "Colonel Gadaffis hits squads" spread across the US 20 years back .??
