not sure if this is the right place to post this,

ive moved to thailand a few months back, and i want to send some items home to family and friends etc.

apart from paying the postage cost and any thing else on this end,
will i have any problems sending stuff home to ireland, england etc??

i know there is a tax or something for items such as cigarette's and alcohol etc...

but clothes, jewelery, and other stuff like paintings etc?

if anyone can help, would appreciate it! thanks.

I sent home 2 or 3 boxes. €60 IIRC for a large 10k box all got through no problems and nothing missing from them either. I went for the cheaper 3 month by sea option as the boxes were so heavy.

You can do it in any post office, we went in the private office though

I sent some stuff home via the cheapo sea mail service. Everything got home OK but the box was so fcuked and soaking wet that I could actually peel it open.

Declare it as a GIFT with say worth 30 Euro and you can send almost everything TAXFREE (if you ever buy things on EBAY let them declare it as a gift) so you will have a bargain:D but no drugs ,girls etc the confiscate them:mad:

    ahh they confiscate the girls?!?!?!?!

ah well scrub that plan so...

right, so as long as i declare it as a gift, i can send stuff home.

basically i want to send some clothes, jewelery and a few odd bits back to my parents...
and with time maybe sell stuff through ebay..

    they wont be heavy boxes...
    maybe 100 t-shirts
or a suit etc inside them.

Yeah make sure you state they are gifts and declare everything on the declaration form thing they give you to fill in, if you dont, and they open it at customs, stuff could get taken from it and you'll have no proof that they were in there in the first place.

I sent a box from Vietnam and everything got home grand. Should have no problems.
