Does anyone have any information regarding forensic positions available in Ireland such as course requirements and methods of applying?

    Thanks in advance.

There was an advertisment recently for a position within Garda HQ in the Park .. the requirments were a science master and a good bit of experience in lab work and reporting. The requirments were very specific, my missus applied but didn't have the required experience, she had plenty of reporting etc but not the lab experience.

And to add .. it is nothing like CSI .. very boring and detailed .. but that is what scientists like !!

I have a cousin whose working in Phoenix park as a forensic officer and apparently it's quite a tightnit outfit. Jobs will only come available when one of the aul fellas retires. But your best bet is to register with the Office of Public appointments as they do all the hiring, not the gardai.

and yes i am a CSI nut and i found this out trying to land myself a forensics job.
