Just gone up another quarter percent.
I know it was expected but its still a pain in the ass.
Reckon this will further diminish peoples confidence in the housing market?

Whether it further diminishes people's confidence in the housing market or not, I don't know.

Of interest- there are now 4 properties from "The Village Weir" in Lucan (from a total of 23) for sale on myhome.ie The asking price for the 2 bed apartments is now 305-320 (with estate agents advising the real price is 317k and to offer another 5k for furnishings). This is a reduction of 30k on the price 2 bed apartments last sold at there 2 years ago...... (apparently no properties have sold in the past 2 years). As for 3 beds- they are 360 (down from 410k when the last one sold in May '04)........ All houses (all 4 of them) are being sold by buy-to-let investors and are now being aimed at the FTB market.

Re: interest rates- concensus is another .25% this side of Christmas and a further .5% on top of that (to 4%) by May 07 (they are then suggesting that the US economy may be slightly crippled at that stage- and its entirely possible that the max may be at that stage).
