    Hi, as im currently restricted to a laptop for playing games on, I am pretty determined to get a tower pc as a main gaming pc. The problem is im not really sure what I need spec wise. I know it would probably work out cheaper to build it, but I dont really have the time or the expertise to do that for myself. Im on a budget, but im not going to buy a ****e machine either.

    Im looking for something that will play all recent games, and play them pretty well. I want to be able to play CS, Oblivion, FEAR, Doom 3, etc in at least 1024x768 without skipping. Im sick of slow jerky lo res gameplay. That said, I dont need something that will run something at 100fps at ridiculously high res. I dont need the ultimate gaming machine, cos I cant afford it. I do however want something that will be fairly decent for the next two years anyway without many upgrades.

    Thats pretty much it. I really dont want to spend over a grand, but I guess im open to comprimise. Any help would be really appreciated guys :)

    Wow, that seems like a lot for that price, their site has a lot of nice stuff pretty cheap! I have one or two more questions;

    1. Is there a major difference between Intel and AMD's dual core systems? Just the AMD equivalents seem to be a fair bit cheaper.

    2. I heard something about Direct X10 compatible video cards coming out soon, is it worth waiting for them?

    3. If I had a monitor that should be suitable, and I had that extra cash to spend on the system, what should I upgrade?
