Taking money off kindly folk?

Just a quick question on table etiquette. I was at the SE the other night and was at a table with about 8 others. One particular hand came about with 2 players in. Player one was a middled aged lady...we'll call her 'V' (ye probably know who I'm talkin about) and the other was a lad out on a night obviously down on his luck we'll call 'P'. Anyway, the hand played out and V took down the money after a showdown. She then apoligised and said "Sorry bout that I'm not here for the money." to that P then siad (in a jokey not serious way) "well gimme my money back so" and laughed. V then lobbed a €25 chip across the table without a word. P looked a bit distracted and confused for a second and then added the chip to his (meagre) stack.

My question is...should P given the chip back or accepted it like he did?
    What wud you of done?

take it and give the dealer €5 and give someone else €25 next time you are in the reverse situation. If you don't do this it is horrible bad luck.

spin around clockwise three times using only your left foot and pat your head whilst reciting old man donalds farm helps too. if you do it counterclock wise by accident this can be settled simply by participating in the gentlemans rules at the table for one hour, where you must only touch your cards with your left hand and must refer to everyone as "mr seat 1" and "Mr seat 7" etc... and the Dealer as "old bean"...and also you must never use the letter Z or K in any sentence, if you happen to have had pocket kings you can blink 3 times in order to let everyone know. if you only blink 2 times a simple "double shoulder twitch twist" should cover it.
p.s. accept the money and look after it better

I lost a €1400 pot to some idiot in the fitz once and he threw a €25 to me afterwards; I had to restrain myself from throwing it at his head.

The guy that owns our factory and several others around Europe actually does this everytime before he sits down, but as he is the boss no one has the nerve to ask him why, obviously works as he is worth bundles, the way my cards are going lately I'll think I'll give it a try.:)

If ive beaten the same player in a cash game a couple of times or there's a player losing his (or her) knickers, if im asked for change, i'll put an extra euro or maybe a fiver in the change for them.

There's nothing wrong with it. The scariest place in cash games is to alway have the 2nd best hand, yuck...

I'd give the €25 back (but she'd never offer it to me for a start!! lol and I mean that in a good way.) if she wouldn't accept it back I'd tip the dealer the €25.

I know what Hector means here, I would be annoyed if someone gave me money back, I've no problem taken there money, so why insult me by giving me a gift after taking my money fairly.

I see this happen in the Fitz regularly enough, but I extremely rarely accept myself. It usually happens when someone sucks out and for think this will make it better. If I ever do accept then it will be after I am bust, and I will blind raise with it and shove it all in the pot.

they should have a 'charity' bucket at the tables so people can alleviate their guilt after lady luck licks their ass by giving to the more needy...

    jesus, what a tool!

in America, you could have pulled out your legally-held concealed weapon and blown the mo'fo away (and nobody would say a word). I would do this...

(right, that should dissuade HJ from stealing my BB on Saturday)

If it was someone I was friendly with and we were joking about it (as per the OP) I probably would accept it for a laugh! If it was the HJ situation I most certainly wouldnt.

    DeV.

I'm now on a mission to play a cash game with HJ and dog him in a big pot just so I can throw him €25 afterwards.

it might look like the "I got this friend who wants to now..blah blah blah" syndrom..but it was some other lad. If it was me dunno what i woulda done, suppose if i was short stacked i'd a kept it and tipped the dealer a bit. stuck me as a bit strange at the time

    .
Weird but I reckon old stones in his pockets is the one player I see do this most often. Softer than he looks....
Either that or he really likes you.;)
