Mii channel concept explained a little

    From Joystiq:
    http://www.joystiq.com/2006/10/02/roll-your-own-mii-pre-wii/

Joystiq have a Flash implementation from a fan of the Mii feature that will be included with Wii.

IGN have an interesting article on the how much Mii is integrated into games for Wii and the online system.

Essentially this could become social networking in your living room if implemented properly. Think bebo with voice chat and your Mii is your avatar but you can use it with a remote in your living room.

    From IGN:

    Mii on Parade
Mii Channel system takes these caricatures into a custom-built online community known as Wii Parade. Within this virtual world exists Mii Plaza, a community where gamers' Mii Channel characters can mingle with each other.
One more interesting thing is that the Mii characters do not always feature as the main characters in the games," said Nogami. "You can also find them popping up as faces in the crowd. For instance, in Wii Sports, a Mii you made a while ago and had forgotten about might turn up one day in the spectators' seats. Also, since you can store Mii on your Wii Remote, you can bring your Mii to use on your friend's Wii!
other users' Mii characters can come and visit. In the same way, your Mii can make an appearance on someone else's Wii, although this won't happen unless the user has authorized it. The user can choose whether or not to allow their Mii to come and go on the network, so the only Mii characters that will appear on someone else's Wii are those where the user has permitted it."

To me this is a far more interesting feature than a DVD player. This has the possability to make a games console more than a games console as opposed to the high tech added by the other manufacturers which is of little appeal to anyone but techies. This is something everyone can use.

It is a good idea but we'll see if people like it or not and if it will help sell the Wii. The main problem is obviously that everyone you know needs a Wii for the social networking to be truely useful.

I don't know if it's something I'd actually ever use though.

Excellent... a few of the selections in the Mii flash were taken from that South Park character creator but its still a lot of 'fun'
