    I just mentioned this on another thread on the main forum but some here may be interested in the PS technique of achieving the miniature model look.

    It became quite the fad on Flickr a while back after the tilt-shift group there made Boing Boing, Slashdot and Digg in the space of a week:

    Its very hit and miss, more miss than hit, honestly. I tried it a few times and only came out with one decent shot:

    Two great examples there :-) I think it depends entirely on the subject as to whether or not it actuall looks in any way convincing. Its amazing though how your visual system can be fooled so completely though. Look at either of them and you're almost -certain- you're looking at an incredibly detailed miniature instead of a normal shot with a bit of progressive blur applied !
