Searching for a driver

    Hi,

I recently got a bluetooth dongle form a mate and unfortunately there's was no installation CD (I think he lost it)

Anyway, the only information I have to go on regarding what type of drivers I need for it to run correctly is what's printed on the dongle itself.

So.... It's a Cygnet, model number MBD-C2.1-2 and when I plug it into my USB port it tells me that its hardware name is BCM92035DG. That's 3 things to go on anyway.

Now I went to Google and did as best a search as I could regarding the above 3 details and found a number of sites with reference to BCM92035DG. However, none of them pointed me in the direction of drivers etc...
The Cygnet site itslef is a load of w@nk. I may aswell have asked my dog for help.
I also checked all the driver sites that I know of but again to no avail

What I guess I'm getting at is....Does anyone know how or where to get the drivers for this dongle or has anyone come across a similar situation before?

    Grateful for any relevant information
    Thanks in advance,
    Chunks

That's a Broadcom chip isn't it? Have you tried their site yet?

I thought XP supported bluetooth devices without additional drivers?

    There are issues though.. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=840635

Is there an FCC-ID marked on the device? It might be helpful to find the driver.

Everything thats written on the dongle is listed below

    Cygnet
    ITEM NO: DLBT1
    MODEL NO: MBD-C2.1-2
    S/N DLB00102394
    CE0678

Im not sure what an FCC-ID is, maybe its one of the above??

This company sells a dongle that uses the same chip....this is from their FAQ.

I think we are in 'long shot' territory now :)

Try these drivers they are just the generic drivers for the BCM92035DG chip.

As if you open up the btwusb.inf you can see all the other brands which use the same chip though Cygnet isnt there :( it is still worth a shot.

    Have you tried www.driverguide.com?

Just a thought, I have often found useful drivers there..

It's now free registry and ignore the PC Advisor pop up.
