I installed voipstunt tonight and have found it works really well for outgoing calls, but i seem to be having difficulty in recieving calls to the number i got for my account. basically if i ring either one of my mobiles then the number shows as the correct voip in number that ive been assigned, but if i try to ring it back on either my 083 number or my landline it says the number doesn't exist, ok so out of pig iron i rang the same number on my 087 mobile and lo and behold it rings and my mobile number pops up on my pc screen???

Has anyone got any idea what would be blocking the numbers ringing through?

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thanks
    Al

Excellent - VoipStunt didn't have Irish VoIP-in numbers when I signed up, and they still weren't avaiabe the last time I checked a month or two ago. I just signed up for a VoIP-IN number, assuming I'd get an 076 number, but they gave me a Dublin (01) number. It works from my O2 mobile.

It may be that it'll take a while for the other networks to acknowledge that these new numbers have been assigned. Some people couldn't call my 076 number (from freespeech.ie) for a while.

just out of interest, the number they gave me was 01 4827551 can some of you try that and see if it works from different networks. I found it odd that vodafone recognise the number but eircom don't??? typical eh?

I can't find any info on voipstunt's site about geo-numbers. Can someone point me in the right direction or is it a well-kept secret?

Blaster, you can get the number if you go to your account page (the page that shows you how much credit you have left) and then you can purchase the number from there (it only costs €1 !!!)

I got an e-mail earlier from Blueface that said that they get some their 01 and 076 numbers from Smart and they are therefore affected by Smart's current troubles with eircom. Maybe this is the issue with your voipstunt number also?
