    Hi,

Liam from GMIT here. I used to arch for a year or so in the UK, before I moved here and kinda forgot about teh whole thing until I found that there was an archery club in GMIT, and promptly joined.
Kinda figures I should pop me head in here and say hello. So..hello lol.

Does anyone here have experience of hte Samick Agulla riser? I'm considering one with Hoyt Epics. the choices though, I'll end up pulling my hair out!

Welcome back to the addictive sport!

Few people in our club (NUIG, just accross the city from you!) have agullas. I found them to be nice smooth risers, but if you were to spend the money, the goldmedallist from Hoyt is almost the same price and has a longer list of advocates! I'd say that though as I'm Hoyt all the way!

I used the Hoyt Edge limbs for a while, thought they were fine! The Epic limbs (I think!) are an upgrade of the Edge so I'd give the thumbs up! Only thing is that they are wooden so might not be wonderful on long outdoor shoots!

Welcome back to the addictive sport!
and doesn;t my wallet know it :(!!!

Is it possible to try out those risers, if the members would be so awfully kind - the last thing is to order something you hate!
I was originally going to join NUIG, but changed courses.

I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem, I'll text the owners to see when they'll be in.

We train on Wed from 4-6, but there will be LOTS of beginners there this week, place will be a bit hectic. We have a quiter session on Fri mornings from 9-12noon that would be a bit calmer if you're around then?

Good value is to be had from the Hoyt Goldmedalist - keep an eye on Ebay...

I would go for the agulla its a great riser with some deicent ajustment on it. If you want to cut cost even more i would go for a set of Challenger limbs. Ok, I know there not the best but there cheap and would do untill you could get somthing better. I got all my stuff (agulla riser and challenger limbs) for a modarate 230euro.

I'm inclined to agree there. I bought a 2nd hand agulla with challenger craft limbs last march, and have no complaints as of yet (and those who know me know how much i enjoy complaining)

Agulla it is. I'll leave the Challenger limbs on it for a while, I'll need to change when the outdoor season starts anyway, and poundage increase etc.

I shot stabilized forthe first time this evening...no comparison! bow was way too heavy draw and consequently screwed up my drawing :S
