Anyone know if you can use a Plasm Screen or LCD TV bought in the UK in Ireland?.

I don't know if there is still a difference in the TV's (there used to be a few years back, not sure if this is still the case) and I'm wondering of this applies to Plasma or LCD?.

    Appreciate any advice.

In the UK, only UHF is used for analog TV transmissions, while here in Ireland we still use VHF for some stations. Many TVs sold only for the UK market don't have a VHF tuner, and cannot pick up these station.

You would need to check if that TVs tuner can tune VHF channels.

The above is no longer the case. My UK bought Plasma works perfectly well here. I can't find my source but I'm certain all manfacturers harmonised the tuning, hence when you turn on the TV for the first time it will ask you what country you are in.
