Are sugar carbs the only ones that matter?

Right, when calculating carb intake, are sugar carbs the only ones that have any impact?

Ie, its only the "of which sugars" bit that I should be cautious of when preparing a meal that contains fats?

Because carbs promote an insulin reaction that stores fats. Allegedly.

Either way, I dont quite understand the "of which sugars" part of a food label.

My understanding was that there were three types of carbs.

    Fibre carbs
    Sugar Carbs
    Sugar Alcohol.

Now I am getting thrown opinions from ALL over the place, everyone says different things and its really starting to bug me. Generally here seems to be a sensible source of information since google cant bloody well decide what is good and what is bad for general fat loss.

The common opinion overall is do not eat fats with high carb foods.

But since there seem to be many types of carbs I am trying to figure out which ones to avoid the most.

Sugar Alcohol is burned off quickly and apparently has no insulin reaction that stores anything at all.

But the rest of it is confusing the hell out of me and I really, really want to get it right.

repeat after me: keep.. it... simple ;)

it is possible to get too wrapped up in the ins and outs of macronutrients (that's fats, carbs and proteins).

Keep all your foods non-processed- that means nothing from packets, with more than five ingredients, with added anything.

Make all your meals have vegetables and/ or fruits and protein and some fat. Eat starchy carbs earlier rather than later and have simple carbs straight after a workout when your body needs them.

For fats, a mix of polyunsaturated, monunsaturated and saturated is good- that means olive, walnut, sesame, coconut and flax oils, nuts, seeds and avocados.

Make meals yourself from scratch. Don't be afraid to use small amounts of butter not margerine. Use seasonings for taste and flavour.

You may find that your shopping bill goes up with all the fresh meat and veg you'll be consuming, but its money very well spent. Honestly, keep it simple, very simple. Check out the shopping list sticky and with those ingredients you can't go wrong.
