Would anyone know off hand the number of blue chip companies operating in Ireland? (republic)

By operating here I mean company’s with a decent size operation not just a small sales office with a handful of employees.

I’m looking for a ball park fugure just, is the figure in the 100s or 1000s?

Personally I think its somewhere in the region of 1-200 but I could be way off.

try a little harder on your definition of 'blue chip' and/or decent size, otherwise .......

There are a surprisingly large number, although the number with 300 or more would reduce the figure somewhat.
