where does it say they are legal

    i was wondering does anyone have the link to where it says airguns are legal in ireland now??

    As far as I know there is no actual phrase saying "Airsoft guns are legal, but then there is no phrase saying they are illegal. It says (as far as I know) is that a gun is classed a 'gun' when it has a muzzle velocity greater than one joule and thus is subject to licencing etc etc, so, airsoft guns under one joule obviously arent guns then but classed as 'toys'.

    I probably got something wrong there, but thats the way I understood it.

    you just really got the wording wrong,
    a firearm means:an air gun (including an air rifle and air pistol) with a muzzle energy greater than one joule or any other weapon incorporating a barrel from which any projectile can be discharged with such a muzzle energy,
