Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this phone? I'm planning to get one on Talk 400 from Meteor on Monday.

I've been told on here that they are a very good phone but I'm used to Nokias and have used a Sharp GX25 for the last year.

It's a great phone. I bought one off Expansys about 3 months ago and have no complaints.

Not sure what else I can say. Similiar to the k750i, but better. Enhanced screen/camera/etc.

If you have specific questions please ask.

have mine a couple of months now. not a bad phone tbh, but nothing special about it really. i think the camera quality is poor for a 2mp.

Has it an easy to use menu system?

Is it easy to write messages without using predictive? I never use predictive.

Menu system is similiar to other Sony Ericssons. Very easy to use (in my opinion).

Yes, you can turn predictive off if you choose.

Just a few questions after getting the phone:

    1. How do I save pictures I've taken easily?

    2. How can I make the phone a little louder when I get a message? It seems very low.

    3. Can I load music straight off my computer onto it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,324 ✭✭✭chrislad

    1. Easily? Assuming you meant already, all pictures are automatically saved on capture.

    2. When you are selecting the message tone, press play and quickly turn the volume up with the volume keys at the side.

    3. Yes. Plug the memory card into a reader (or do the USB cable method). There's a MP3 folder. To be read properly by the firmware, the folder structure needs to be MP3\Artist Name\Album Title\whatever.mp3

So for the The Killers new album, it would be MP3\The Killers\Sams Town with all the songs in the Sams Town folder.

    1. I took pics though and they didn't save.

    2. Will try this.

    3. Thanks for that.

    1. If it's anything like the other Sony Ericssons (I have a K700i) you have to press the joystick in the centre after taking the picture to save it. i.e dont press the back/cancel button if thats what you were doing! I'm not sure though, because as I've said I don't have this phone.

But I am considering getting a new phone. I absolutely love my K700i - i think sony ericssons are the best phones around. Is it worth getting this phone simply for extras? Or is there any? From what I've seen there's very little difference in the Sony Ericsson K/W range.

I'm very happy with it so far anyway. That said, I've only had it a few hours.

Hmmm, you may have to press the Save button (which is the button about the back button) on some firmwares.

Have the quadband W500i (bought it SIM free in India) - you have to save the picture prior to taking another picture.
An excellent feature of the camera- you can vary exposure levels and stitch up to 5 images together for a widescreen landscape particularly good for going around a table etc.
Probs with the camera- when you take a picture, and you hear the "Click!" the image captured is about half a second after the click- so if you move the camera or jerk it after the click the shot is ruined.

Was playing with the phone today and transferred a whole load of music videos into 3gpp format- and put them on an M2 stick.

Big problem is getting high capacity M2 sticks (the max I can find anywhere seems to be a 512Mb card, though I have been told 2Gb ones have shipped).

All in all, it is a lovely phone. The way you can use the walkman function independent of the phone is handy too.

Ps- if you register any of the new walkman phones on the sony website, they will give you a free docking station (similar to a pair of speakers with a docking point in the middle for an IPOD)- I'm still waiting on mine....

What format do you need to convert videos to to be able to view them on the phone?

For example, how could I convert Windows Media Player files to view them on the phone?

3GP Video Converter should do the job for you.

Imtoo 3gp converter is the best around.

Handy for showing people goals or porn or funny **** or porn or porn or porn or even maybe some more porn.

Dont use the software that comes with the phone, drag and drop your mp3s and create a playlist on the phone itself, the software is mental.

    2 cool sony related websites.

Also get Worms possibly the best game ever that works perfectly on a phone, tetris also good.

I started to register mine on the sony ericsson site....
All they seem to offer is a free ringtone download?

Have you a link to the site or area of the site you used?

    Cheers:)

What??? Are you serious? This phone lasts for about a week. How much do you phone every day?

i just have it turned on,
    maybe 20 or so texts.
i rarely make calls on it.

i dont use the walkman that much unless i have the phone plugged in as it wont usually last the day

i went on holidays with it 2 weeks ago and it was fully dead by the second day

Even playing an episode of Father Ted on it every day I get a longer than that.
I do a lot of talking on mine and I would get 4 days out of it. 2 Charges a week max.

Think you got a dud dude.
(I had a phone about 6 years ago that wouldn't last the day....
