Signal problem with 2 LNB's

    Hi all,

I posted this question on another forum but got no answers so hopefully someone here might be able to help.

I'm using a Lidl system (Silvercrest SL65, Dish 80 cm) bought 3 weeks ago and set it up with a second LNB and 2 way Diseqc switch with the main focus on Astra 1 with the other one on Astra 2.

Last weekend I changed things around a bit to receive Hotbird/Astra 2 but as that meant loosing Eurosport I changed back to Astra 1/Astra 2.

The problem I have is that now I can't get both satellites at their best when the two LNB's are connected at the same time.

When I went back to my original arrangement, I focused the dish for Astra 1 as before and got 80% strength/74% quality, then set the second LNB for Astra 2 and got about 75% strength/72% quality but when I connected both LNB's, most channels were still OK but some transponders on Astra 2 gave "No Signal" while others maintained their strength but quality fell to about 35%. On Astra 1 strength fluctuated between 55% and 75% with quality at about 71%.

If I disconnect the Astra 1 LNB, Astra 2 returns to normal.

I had no problems with this set up the first time so where am I going wrong now ?

Sounds like Diseqc switch is faulty.

    Hi Watty,

Something I noticed this evening was the channels giving problems on Astra 2are all on the higher frequency transponders, ie. 12.300 and above although the BBC streams are OK.

Channels on both H and V polarities are affected and altering the skew of the LNB does'nt seem to make any difference.
